40+ years shaping the mortgage banking industry
Founder & CEO, Mortrax Corporation
Scott Brown is the founder and CEO of Mortrax Corporation, a leader in mortgage technology for residential lending. He has dedicated his entire 40-year career to the Mortgage Lending industry, including time served as the President of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Greater Miami.
Starting his career in 1984 as a Secondary Marketing Analyst, he quickly rose in the corporate world to become an Assistant Vice President by the age of 23 for a nationwide publicly traded mortgage lender. In the years that followed, he became a well-known senior level mortgage lending executive, and was invited to serve on numerous advisory boards.
Prior to entering the mortgage banking domain, he spent 2 years working as a COBOL developer, and earned his Regents Degree through the University of State of New York. Those early years propelled him into developing numerous analysis models and software for his corporate employers during the 1990's and early 2000's.
After being responsible for highly successful software systems in his corporate career, Scott became an entrepreneur in 2004 when he founded Mortrax. His company created an enterprise SaaS system called iMort®, and it grew to have 2,200 users from mortgage lenders and banks across the US. After selling the technology in 2019, he has been focused on the next set of challenges to represent his 'swan song.'
